This past weekend my family and I went down to Foxborough to see the New England Patriots Training Camp.  Of course my kids and I were hoping to get a glimpse of Tom Brady and we were not disappointed.  Here in the New England/Boston area we can sometimes be pretty tough on our sports stars.  We love them one day and hate them the next.  With Matt Cassel having such a good year last year there are plenty of fans that think we should have just kept Cassel.  Though Tom seemed a little rusty it did not appear that his knee was affecting him.  He does have a visible brace though.

In the over 40 years of being a New England sports fan I haven’t seen someone as nice as Tom Brady.  He seems very down to earth even though he married Gisele.  Larry Bird is the other classy guy that comes to mind.

This past Saturday it was around 90 degrees on the playing field and Tom Brady still came over to the crowd and signed autographs.  He walked all the way around the field and though I can’t say we were able to get an autograph my kids were amazed at how close they got to him.

Tom made it a point of starting the autographs at the farthest corner where the special needs fans were waiting for him.  As some of you may know Tom Brady is involved with the Best Buddies organization which is a:

nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.

My husband and I contribute to this organization as well.

We look forward to a great season with Tom Brady hopefully back to his full form…
