restaurantweek1Cambridge is well known for having great restaurants so I was surprised to find only 3 in the top 25 Restaurants on a list the Boston Business Journal published this week.  The list is really more Boston focused so maybe it isn’t bad news.  Of the 25 listed only 8 of them were outside of Boston.  The list is actually based on information compiled by Zagat®.

Zagat® produces surveys that rate restaurants and hotels in major markets like New York, Boston and LA just to name a few.  They attempt to provide better ratings through use of a bigger number of surveyors than just the usual one or two critics that may be read in the market.

The 3 restaurants ranked as most popular in Cambridge are:

Oleana :  Ranked Number 7

Oleana’s cuisine is Arabic influenced with a focus on Turkish foods.  The estimated average meal is $52 based on the BBJ list.  Oleana offers outdoor dining through October but does not accept reservations for outdoor dining.  Reservations are encouraged if you plan to eat inside.

Craigie on Main :  Ranked Number 16

Craigie’s menu changes daily based on the best fresh ingredients it finds.  This innovative approach has garnered many fans.

East Coast Grill & Raw Bar Grill :  Ranked Number 21

Focused on seafood East Coast Grill has been pleasing customers since 1985.  The average meal is estimated at $39 which puts it on the least expensive list along with Oleana’s.

If you have not tried these Cambridge restaurants these are great ones to try since they are typically on many best of lists in Cambridge and Greater Boston.  Another one of note is Anna’s Taqueria in Somerville which also made the list at Number 18.  Offering Mexican Food at a steal of a deal at an estimated $9 for the average meal.  Enjoy!
